SMASH HIT BHANGRA AWARDS CELEBRATES ITS 6thANNIVERSARY, Winner is Dennish–Punjaban Ms. Anita Lerche
SMASH HIT UK Bhangra Awards represents amalgamation of tradition and cultural values, which encompass the very soul of Asians in the UK. Bhangra fans from all communities are united and delightfully participate in the event. This tremendous showcase unveils the best artistic talent within the nation and beyond. Receiving an award is truly an honour and one of the highest accolades for recipients as they are fairly voted winners by the worldwide audience.

The event included 24 awards, live performances, dinner, dance, exhibition and free workshops. This show was organized at the luxurious Regency Banqueting Suite, Birmingham. The CEO and organizer Bobby Bola along with his team at Culture Unite crafted the event really well. The event took place to celebrate its 6th anniversary.
Hosts for the sixth edition were the entertaining Manpreet Darroch, Amber Joseph and Apna Bhajan Jagpal.

It was a special evening with electrifying live performances and scrumptious three course meal. The arrangements were all up to the mark for the guests to enjoy. Everyone was given the opportunity to showcase their talents and hit the dance floor which made the event more interesting and entertaining.
There were breath taking live performances by Inderjit London, Kamal Chopra, Subaig Singh, Jin & Seetal, K. Mohito, Gurdeep Kainth, Khadija Dilnawaz, Pally Matharu, Vinay Bangar, Haripa Dancers, Bhangra Smash Up, Beat Asylum, Dance Bhangra, 4All2 Envy Entertainment, Birmingham Crew DJ’s. The ‘Dhol’ players unstoppably played the ‘desi beats’ for the audience to get energized and perform the bhangra.

The glamour was limitless with the presence of international artists from South East Asia and North America. Event was also attended by the bhangra fraternity, VIP’s and Mrs. India International Queen, along with the general public.

Young singing sensation Khadija Dilnawaz’s 25 min performance opened the event and with his heart-melting and soulful voice got the evening going.
Punjabi Newspaper, ‘Man Jitt Weekly’ was awarded the first award in the category of ‘Best Publication’.
DESIblitz.com came up trumps by winning ‘Best Website’ for the second consecutive year. Reflecting on the award and positively looking ahead, Faisal Shafi, Lead Editor, DESIblitz.com said:
“We are extremely honoured to have received the ‘Best Website’ award for the second consecutive year. We are earnestly grateful for this recognition. “There is a feel-good factor to finish 2019 on a high. Let the adventure continue going into 2020.”
It was twice the fun for the popular singer ‘Subaig’ who received ‘Best Single’ for ‘Yaar Belli’ (2019) earlier, and then also got the ‘Best Singer Award.’The stunning songstress and actor Japjit Kaur picked up ‘Best Urban Artist.

The International Danish Punjaban singer Anita Lerche was full of energy as she was conferred with a ‘Special Contribution Award.’ Anita in her soulful voice, also sung a few lines from her song ‘Sadke Punjab Ton’ (2014). Thanking her fans and advocating for Bhangra and Punjabi culture.
Anita started singing in Punjabi and Hindi many years ago, when she visited Punjab and learned the languages. Anita has many songs sung in Punjabi and Hindi and along with her songs, she dances including slow dance, bhangra and melody religious songs and dancing in the honor of God.
Anita has many friends from Indian Culture around the world including, India, Pakistan, USA, UK, Australia, Canada and from all those countries were Punjabi and Hindi Speaking families reside.
Anita is a wonderful artist and her many albums have published and she is coming in many movies in the very near future. Anita has sung religious songs in the Sikh Shrine “Shri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar” and in Durgayna Mandir, Amritsar, the Hindu Temple. Anita is loved by Indian Community at large and at present and in foreign countries a lot.
When Anita was named for the best Bhangra Artist Award, it was a delightful moment around the world. Anita Lerche thanked all of her supporters and loved listeners for choosing her for this award.
Much delighted Shandy Kambo, from Awaz FM, who won his second ‘Best Radio’ presenter award expressed, “I would like to thank each and every single one off you who showed me there love and support for my nomination, this one is for all you guys and especially for all my listeners. He also updated a status on Facebook following the night of the event , “Big up to all my Family and friends who came last night and showed their support. Great meeting some of my industry friends and congratulations to you all who picked up an award.
“May the hard work continue and be proud of our culture and language.”

World percussionist and drumologist Juggy Rihal bagged the award for ‘Best Musician.’
After giving twelve awards out there was a 15-minute break, which saw Subaig Singh Kandola singing ‘She Dances’ (2018) with dancers from 4all2Envy Entertainment.
Panam Verma took home the ‘Best Video Producer’ award and Nikka Sev won ‘Best Album’ for 1501(2019), a project involving Tubsy Dholki Walla, Bhangra Tape Deck, Amar Singh Sansoa and Omäsh Daddar.
The musical couple Jinder Jade and Seetal Kaur had everyone on the dance floor, singing some wonderful tracks. Everyone enjoyed flavoursome meals with some more extravagant Live performances.
The motive of the event to celebrate diversity and promote brotherhood and fraternity was very well served.

Evening was rounded up on a sweet note with special Indian delicacy of gulab jamuns and ice cream which was served for the dessert.
