Veer Soren, 22, was the grandson of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren and the son of Babulal Soren. He was on vacation in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, with his friends.
Champai Soren confirmed the sad news on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He said that his grandson Veer passed away on 24 February 2026 and expressed deep sorrow over his untimely death.
According to reports, Veer reached Manali with his friends on February 22. They were staying at a homestay in the Simsa area. During their trip, they visited popular tourist places like Solang and Hamta Snow Point.
The next morning, Veer complained of a severe headache. His friends ordered medicine for him through a delivery app. After taking the medicine, he went back to sleep. Later, his friends found him unconscious on the floor.
They quickly took him to the Civil Hospital in Manali, but doctors declared him dead when he arrived. Hospital staff said he had likely died before reaching the hospital.
The police were informed and started an investigation. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue, and a post-mortem will be conducted to find out the exact cause of death. So far, there are no signs of external injury. Veer’s family is expected to reach Manali soon.
