Packaged egg brand Eggoz is facing controversy after a woman claimed that the eggs she bought had plastic inside. She purchased the eggs through the quick-delivery app Zepto.
What the Woman Claimed
In a video, the woman said she had ordered Eggoz Everyday eggs from Zepto. When she boiled the eggs, she noticed something unusual inside.
She said that instead of the normal egg yolk, a plastic-like material came out. She showed the boiled eggs in the video, where yellow, string-like shapes could be seen. She described them as looking like “noodles” made of plastic.
The woman said that until now she had only heard about fake or plastic eggs being sold in the market, but this was the first time she saw something like this in her own home. She also pointed out that each egg had the Eggoz Everyday stamp on it.
She added that if the eggs had been cooked in another way, she might not have noticed anything. According to her, the eggs burst while boiling, which revealed the strange material inside.
Company Response
The company later responded to the allegations. Meanwhile, many people online started debating whether the material shown in the video was actually plastic or something else.
