BAKERSFIELD — on September 19 Darmanjot Singh, 29, an Indian national who lives in Ontario, Calif., had a one-count indictment returned, charging him with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Singh led Bakersfield police on a high-speed pursuit that ended when Singh crashed his car. Singh’s car was searched, and officers said they found two 5-pound packages of methamphetamine.

If convicted, Singh faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $10 million fine.
